When we heard about the intimacy immersion in Cancun, we got very excited. We have been together for the past year, and have taken some classes at OneTaste. Neither of us could have imagined how much the courses there, and the practice of Orgasmic Meditation, would have brought us so much closer together:  creating the freedom to be who we are, and not hide it from one another. You could not have picked a more beautiful and sensual place for the weekend than the ME resort in Cancun. 

We had been in contact with other couples and they shared our enthusiasm! This is not a cheesy "red heart" Valentines for us. It's the freedom to further explore who we really are, and who we want to be, with all the messiness of our desires... and love each other for it! 

I'm sure we'll come back and people will have asked us what has changed, because we are glowing. We almost want to keep knowledge of OneTaste a secret because it has helped our intimacy so much, but I'm sure we'll tell them ;)

One of our favorite classes at the retreat was one called "Shhhh!"  We entered into a room where we could not talk. No mouthing of words or attempts at sign language. Just following directions and using our touch to explore each other. We fed each other small morsels of food while blindfolded, dripped wax across our bodies, and just used every part of sensual touch we could imagine... all while keeping our clothes on! At the end everyone in the group shared their experiences and how much they were turned on. There was this sense of freedom that we could be touched by random people in a non-sexual, but definitely sensual way, and let ourselves enjoy it.  

We ended up going back to the room that night and we could not stop touching each other. We were amazed - we realized we ended up not talking that night much at all, even when not in the class. We just enjoyed walking the beach holding hands, hearing the waves, connecting to everything around us and each other. We shut out our connection to the world around us normally and it takes a shot in the arm to reconnect. All the things we shut out, claiming they are "not important," turn into the things that are most important in our days. We have taken these exercises and remember to connect with each other. 

That was just one of the 6 classes that they taught while down there. It was well worth the cost. It seems so simple a thing, to actually reconnect, but I am always amazed that even we get stuck in patterns that are just dull. It's nice to know that there are places out there dedicated to us just reconnecting, and for us to admit that it's ok to not know everything or be perfect and seek out a place where we can learn new ways to love. 

The lectures given by the founder of OneTaste, Nicole Daedone, were amazing, eye opening and refreshing. One in particular on the topic of being in relationship to ones own sexuality was a skillful blend of profound insights and practical, down to earth information which could be applied immediately. It changed how I look at my own sexuality, and in turn how we relate through our sexuality as a couple. Incredibly valuable.

The day devoted to man/ woman dynamics and gender paradigm had an impact on not only my view of our relationship but on how I see gender and relating in the bigger world view. Overall there was an incredible balance of letting go, feeling, opening, and expressing our selves. Combined with intelligent information presented well and made for a truly enlightening experience.   

We wanted a special trip where we could reconnect, and we were not disappointed. I think sometimes we forget how all our little interactions affect how we relate. This trip both reminded us of that, and also provided us the tools so that we can explore intimacy more deeply with each other. Although I expected that we would hear some good lectures, I was particularly surprised by the experiential exercises and how much fun we had just playing.
